Verizon - Hidden Ridge
Irving, TX
October 2025 - Present
NU-FAM was engaged by April Waterproofing and Restoration to design the horizontal waterproofing and subsoil drainage for the perimeter subgrade restoration of the Verizon Hidden Ridge campus, so the new work would form a single, continuous system with the vertical waterproofing.

Our Objective
Water was entering the buildings at multiple locations around the campus. The goal was to make the property whole by finding out why, not just patching where it showed. The vertical waterproofing had been developed with Tremco materials, and Tremco recommended a Registered Waterproofing Consultant to design the horizontal waterproofing and subsoil drainage so the whole assembly would be monolithic.
Our Process
NU-FAM assessed the excavated conditions at the parking garage lid, ground floor perimeter and masonry walls of Building 600. We found that deteriorated waterproofing was only part of the problem. The larger driver was inadequate water management: an expansion joint packed with clay, a curb with minimal drain ports, sealed weep holes, and no effective subsoil drainage. As excavation expanded across additional wings and buildings, we documented further findings, including root damage from Bald Cypress below five feet, failed membrane at curb ledges, and expansion joint transitions that were unsupported or poorly bonded. Each phase of construction was treated as its own consulting event.
Our Solution
NU-FAM delivered location-specific scopes of work that pair repair with water management. They call for new membrane and drainage, replacement expansion joints, working weeps at the masonry walls, and added subsoil drainage. NU-FAM continues to support the project with site visits and digital reports as the contractor installs the work.
